UK based chef, Face of Yours clothing UK winner and Ambassador 2018, Feyi Luther Mbanugo has been in the city of Lagos in Nigeria over the past few weeks making rounds from runway, beauty photo shoots to planning the latest event for the plus size community called Curves in City. She also recently walked the runway for the ATCLCollective at Arise Fashion Week wearing a number from designer, Sally Bawa.
Feyi recently collaborated with award-winning Nigerian makeup artist Banke Meshida Lawal of BMPRO on a shoot for YOURS CLOTHING UK, an affordable high street brand based in the United Kingdom for the curvier woman. ATCL obtained some exclusive behind-the-scenes images from the photoshoot featuring Feyi wearing pieces from the UK brand. She sports a gorgeous floral dress, rocking her short crop and a pair of periwinkle coloured, open toe sandals. In the second look, she is wearing a sleeveless midlength LBD paired with a stunning coral neckpiece and faux-natural extensions coiffed and pinned to perfection.
Feyi Luther Mbanugo’s Curves in the City event is billed as a networking event with short talks by Feyi herself, Founder ATCL Latasha Ngwube and curvy comedienne Chioma Omeruah popularly known as Chigul on the topics like styling, confidence and curve community. The event is specially curated and geared towards improving body positivity and growing a solid community based on respect, love, sisterhood and solidarity in Nigeria.
Curves in the City would be the necessary gap towards building healthy attitudes in individuals in loving themselves and work to raise awareness for body positivity and size diversity within the plus size community and fashion industry as a whole. It seeks to put people on a path to caring and loving themselves and others with the belief that the community would be elevated by every plus size woman coming together and encouraging honest and thought-provoking conversations.
