Ashley Graham Wants to be The First Plus Size Victoria’s Secret Model

This years edition of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show was as it always is, a parade of thin, long-legged beauties. And while the lingerie giant has made some small strides this year embracing diversity, at least when it comes to hair and skin color, there is still a lot of work VS needs to do in terms of diversity on the runway, particularly for the plus side.  Not one to ignore a challenge, plus model sensation; Ashley Graham has now got her sights set on being Victoria’s Secret first plus size angel.

During the super-star studded show, Ashley shared this piece of fan art on her Instagram.

Ashley’s VS campaign didn’t just start, back in 2015 she told MTV that she’d love to walk for the lingerie brand, if they had a plus sized division in the fashion show which they currently do not.  Victoria’ Secret currently stocks underwear up to a UK size 16 and bras up to a size DDD, so does not cater to the plus size market – or straight sized women who are more endowed up top.

Given the average UK woman is a size 16 and a bra size 36D, it’s a bit of an oversight from the VS team. What do you think? Would you like to see plus size angels walking in next year’s Victoria Secret show?
