Not even vicious cyber hackers, can keep Leslie Jones down. In August, hackers accessed Jones’s iCloud account and then posted personal information, as well as nude photos and a racist video, to her official website, according to Variety.
Following the hack, Jones took a break from social media. Even though fans totally understood and supported her need for time and space, we’d be lying if we said we didn’t miss her hilarious tweets. On September 3, Jones made her triumphant return to Twitter with a string of tweets that simultaneously professed her love for The Golden Girls and made it clear that no amount of cyber hate will ever bring her down.
“I don’t care what nobody say, these b*****s make me laugh no matter what the hell is going on, for real,” she says in the video. On September 4, she tweeted a direct response to fans’ support, assuring everyone that she’s “soooooo ok.” Thanks to my fans and friends! I’m soooooo ok really. And I will always be funny been through a lot in my life and I ALWAYS GET BACK UP!
Leslie Jones continues to inspire us and make us laugh in equal measure. Never change, Leslie.
